As a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience in diverse mental health settings, I am passionate about providing a joyful, supportive space for healing. Some people think that having responsibilities is empowering. Well, in my family I’m the oldest child—and oldest grandchild—and I can tell you that being put in that position can make you vulnerable to cycles of dysfunction and generational trauma. Whether you’re a child, a teenager, or an adult, being in charge doesn’t always make you feel powerful… it might actually make you feel weak, misunderstood, and burdened!
My background includes community work, hospital programs, schools, and more. After being exposed to a wide range of client needs and challenges, I was able to pinpoint who I most want to help: individuals and couples who are actively on board with trying to heal—at all stages in life.
In my private practice, I strive to develop deep understanding and trust with each person. Through open-ended discussion, I can help you to gain insight into how your upbringing and life experiences affect present behaviors and beliefs. My approach emphasizes empathy, direct yet thoughtful communication, and staying up-to-date on the latest therapeutic approaches through ongoing training.
A key focus of my work is supporting the LGBTQ community. I strive to make my LGBTQ clients feel fully seen, heard, and empowered to live authentically—especially the kids and teenagers who are being told that they’re confused, when what they really need is to be trusted about what they’re experiencing. I also have extensive experience assisting couples as they navigate relationship issues, which often stem from their own unresolved betrayal trauma (whether they realize it or not!)
While the COVID-19 pandemic brought personal grief and uncertainty, it also strengthened my resilience through crisis response and helping clients cope with stress, loss, and mental health needs. I helped a lot of people break toxic patterns and embrace exciting new stages in their lives. Going forward, I seek to grow my practice through specialized training so that I may continue guiding more individuals on their journey toward healing, well-being, and self-understanding.
When you choose to work with me, you can expect direct yet empathetic discussions where you feel truly listened to and understood. I welcome LGBTQ individuals, couples, children, teens, and all those ready to gain insight and move past obstacles holding them back from their best selves.
If you’re ready to feel less alone and restore a sense of joy in your life, schedule a 15-minute consultation with me and let’s begin your healing journey.
